QuietWalk VERSA is specifically designed for all floating plank applications and works best with, Laminate, Hardwoods & Bamboo, Vinyl Plank, Hybrid Resilient, and Duravana. It’s easy to install over most concrete and wood subfloors, and features an enhanced vapor barrier that protects your flooring from harmful subfloor vapor and high PH levels. This a very simple video illustrating installation for a FLOATING floor application. Make sure to consult with the flooring manufacturer for specific recommendations and requirements for your flooring installation.
All sub-floor assemblies should be tested for moisture and maintain proper flatness before installing flooring products. Please read the complete QuietWalk Versa Underlayment Installation Guide before installation to ensure your subfloor meets moisture and preparation specifications before using this product.
For installation of floating planks (including those with pad attached):
First, ensure the sub floor surface is clean and dry.
Next, roll the Underlayment out and flip it over so the film side is up and the felt side down towards the subfloor. Plan ahead to ensure the underlayment seams run perpendicular to the long dimension of the planks, this will help eliminate any voids under the joints. There Must be a minimum 4” separation between seams of underlayment and seams of finished flooring products.
Trim the underlayment at the perimeter of room using a sharp utility knife maintaining a 1/4” gap from the wall.
Butt the seams together so that they’re flush making sure the pad isn’t overlapped. Roll out next row in same manner butting underlayment close to first row.
Once the underlayment is fully laid out, remove the tape strip and secure the overlapping moisture barrier film. Seal seams with duct tape or a quality strapping tape when cutting around obstacles or when end of roll seams are butted together.
Finally, Install flooring according to the flooring manufacturer’s installation instructions.
