The QuietWalk Carpet Pad is excellent in a basement application! The film side would go up, touching the backing of the carpet. This allows the unique fiber construction to wick away moisture vapor emissions from the concrete, and redirect them to the perimeter of the room where it is able to evaporate.
QuietWalk Carpet Pad is CA Prop 65 compliant, meaning this product does not contain any known cancer-causing substances. We do not add any fire retardant chemicals during the manufacturing process.
QuietWalk Carpet Pad has not been tested as an area rug pad, but it is an eco-friendly low VOC product made of recycled fibers from the textile industry. It does not have any harsh or damaging chemicals added, so it shouldn’t have any affect on the hardwood floor.
One roll of QuietWalk Carpet Pad, which covers 180 square feet, weighs 55lbs.
