QuietWalk Plus can be used over any substrate approved by your flooring manufacturer, and is suitable for use with laminate and floating hardwood flooring.

The QuietWalk Carpet Pad is excellent in a basement application! The film side would go up, touching the backing of the carpet. This allows the unique fiber construction to wick away moisture vapor emissions from the concrete, and redirect them to the perimeter of the room where it is able to evaporate.

QuietWalk Carpet Pad is CA Prop 65 compliant, meaning this product does not contain any known cancer-causing substances. We do not add any fire retardant chemicals during the manufacturing process.

QuietWalk Carpet Pad has not been tested as an area rug pad, but it is an eco-friendly low VOC product made of recycled fibers from the textile industry. It does not have any harsh or damaging chemicals added, so it shouldn’t have any affect on the hardwood floor.

One roll of QuietWalk Carpet Pad, which covers 180 square feet, weighs 55lbs.

QuietWalk Plus is not approved for use with peel and stick vinyl flooring.

In theory, QuietWalk Plus would help to reduce the noise transfer in this application. However, we have not tested this particular application and cannot attest to the suitability. QuietWalk Plus is approved for use installed under laminate and wood flooring.

QuietWalk Plus has only been tested and approved for use installed under laminate and wood flooring. In theory this would help to reduce noise transfer, but we cannot say for certain.

The difference between QuietWalk and QuietWalk Plus is the attached film. QuietWalk Plus has a specialized film designed to accept nails and adhesives so it works with floating, nail-down, and glue-down installation methods of laminate and wood floors. QuietWalk is approved for floating wood and laminate only.

QuietWalk Plus has an attached vapor barrier suitable for emissions up to 7lbs/1000sf/24hrs.  If the emission rate of your slab is less, then you do not need an additional vapor barrier.

QuietWalk Plus is not approved for use with peel and stick tile or carpet. We recommend our QuietWalk Carpet Pad for use with carpet.
