The difference between QuietWalk and QuietWalk Plus is the attached film. QuietWalk Plus has a specialized film designed to accept nails and adhesives so it works with floating, nail-down, and glue-down installation methods of laminate and wood floors. QuietWalk is approved for floating wood and laminate only.

QuietWalk is not approved for use with luxury vinyl products. We recommend QuietWalk Luxury Vinyl for this application.

That is not an intended application, but there should be no issue to use QuietWalk under an area rug.

QuietWalk has only been tested and approved for use over a substrate, below a floating laminate or wood floor. We have not tested it for use between layers of plywood and cannot speak to the suitability.

QuietWalk is approved for a concrete subfloor under laminate flooring and has an attached vapor barrier. You shouldn’t need an additional vapor barrier unless the moisture vapor emissions of your slab exceed 5lbs/1000sf/24hrs.
